Dr Ravini Abey
Ravini combines her passions for people and data by pursuing a PhD in psychology at the University of Melbourne. In her research she explores the following question: how can we encourage people to make healthier choices?
Ravini is the author of multiple peer-reviewed journal articles, and has presented her work around the world, including in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. She has won numerous awards to conduct and present scientific research, for science communication, and for her volunteering efforts in Melbourne and overseas. She has 7 years’ experience in data-analysis, working on health and consumer behaviour projects at the Melbourne Business School, UNSW, and Cancer Council Victoria.
Ravini is also the Co-Founder of PhysiVoice: a digital tool aimed at cultivating deeper relationships between patients and allied health practitioners. PhysiVoice was inspired by her own experience as a chronic pain patient, and her passion for encouraging holistic patient-centred care using biopsychosocial approaches. She is particularly excited about the potential of psychology to drive performance and wellness, through innovative technologies that transcend time and space. Ravini truly believes that technology can be leveraged to help us become happier and healthier versions of ourselves.
